As part of our campaign week Hannah Davies has painted the above picture for us which we are going to selling via silent auction. All the money raised will go towards the CCSS. Below is some words from Hannah about the painting.
‘I am a 25yr old largely self-taught painter, and trained seamstress, involved with the CCSS because my Dad volunteers with them. I am proud he is going out of his way to help people and I am always happy to have the opportunity to help with something that means a lot to him.
This painting is being done specifically for the Coroners’ Courts Support Service and while there wasn’t a specific brief, after a discussion of the other events and activities going on that week, the mention of the phrase ‘let the light shine through’ caught my ear. I often paint flowers, appropriate enough given their common usage in celebration services and have more recently been fascinated by the way sunlight shines through the petals and so this painting was to represent that and the idea that, at a dark point, a kind person’s sunlight makes the world look a little bit brighter.
Thank You Hannah. It is an oil painting and the size is 745mm by 630mm. If you are interested in buying this picture please submit your bid to firstname.lastname@example.org (minimum bid £50). The deadline for bids will be 12pm on 24th December 2020. The highest bidder will win the painting and will be contacted by email to arrange payment.
